I initially began coming to the Fitness Kickboxing at the urging of a friend, and although I went home wondering what had just happened, I went back. I’ve been part of the Fitness Kickboxing class since March, 2016, and I continue to work out weekly. I love the variety this class offers, from working on the heavy bag to circuit training. The fitness benefits are amazing, and I feel stronger every day. The instructors, Phil and Cody, have always been very informative and helpful, so the right technique is used, and participants are able to work at their own pace, while still pushing hard. I’ve never been a person who embraced sweat, but this is the place to do it, and it feels great! As a retired school librarian and teacher, a gym is the last place I ever thought I’d end up spending a lot of time in, but I’ve always felt welcome at 5th Element and honestly feel as though I am part of the 5th Element family. Not every 65 year old woman can say they have their own wraps and boxing gloves – but I do!
Boot Camp, under the direction of Daniel Robbins, was a great introduction to strength training. This was a four-week, 12-session course, and included a warm-up and cool down, and direct instruction in the weight room at 5th Element. As a certified trainer, Daniel knows his stuff, and provided individual attention to all of the participants. I learned a lot, and felt that I made real progress in a short period of time. When Daniel offers another Boot Camp, I’ll be there – great class!
